The Spanish module B2 is addressed to those students that pretend to consolidate their already acquired knowledge in Spanish. The focus will be in the developing of the oral communicative competence as well as the writing abilities and the capacity to understand grammatical topics (B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference).
It prepares the students to work with authentic documents (oral, audiovisual and written), analyse and produce descriptive, narrative, expliative and argumentative texts.

Along this course, the student will acquire the knowledege relative to the B.2 level (Independant user) of the CEFR:
Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
•Speech organisation and coherence: ellipsis; repetition; synonymi; hyponymi; hyperonymi and speech markers.
•Elementary procedures to paraphrase and summarize oral and written texts.
•Word formation, lexical interferences and false friends.
•Personal pronouns: use and placement general review; clitics; use when encountered with D.O/I.O; presence and absence of the subject/object pronouns; the uses of the pronoun “se”.
•Tense coherence and equivalence between Spanish and Portuguese verbal tenses, with special attenton to the subjunctive tenses and the non-personal forms; modal and aspectual periphrasis; pronominal verbs; verbal regency.
•Adverb and idioms.
•Prepositional idioms.
•Sociolinguistic: register diferences; phraseology and popular wisdom expressions; linguistic markers and adverbial idioms.
•Pragmatic and speech analysis: curtesy and modalisation(intensification and reduction); speech participants; implicit and explicit information; text’s characteristics.
•Grammar:noun irregular morphology; grammatical adjectives, verbs and words; verbal tenses specific values; contrastive Portuguese/Spanish morphology.
•Ortography, ortoepia and ortotypography: entonation and distinctive value in communicative skills and vocabulary; onomatopoeia; abbreviations and acronyms.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%).
